![]() ![]() The extension lines begin at the drawing w/no space between the rectangle and the extension line. The software offers features that provide more flexibility than many other programs, allowing the user to perform tasks such as dimensioning and drawing circles. Dimension lines and extensions appeared, but there is no dimension, or arrows at the end of the dimension line. Dimensioning often takes me at least three times longer because I do a quick general dimensioning with LibreCAD's default way of doing dimensions then I go back and clean up all the ill placed dimensions by replacing them with Leader lines and Text. I drew rectangle and followed instructions for horizontal dimension. These couple of things are the biggest weakness that I've dealt with in LibreCAD. Line Type - The default line type is Continuous (e.g. Line widths of up to 2.11mm are supported. The open privacy for free versions make visible of a user project to all. Width - The default line width is 0.00mm. User can easily sketch, constraint a geometry, draft a models from 3D into 2D. Tip - Using Border and Title Blocks Adding a border provides a finished look and title blocks include important information for the drawing. Even better, a general upgrade to all dimensioning would be that you drag the mouse pointer to the place where you want the dimension number to appear and LibreCAD added a Leader line to the dimension line or object as needed. Color - LibreCAD has 16 default colors, but supports the RGB color space (000000 to FFFFFF or 16,777,215 colors). Completing a drawing and making it ready for printing includes a few steps: Finalizing the page size and drawing scale, adjusting the dimensions and spacing, and adding page border and title block as required. It would be nice if you could have the dimension numbers inside the circle or arc if you kept the mouse pointer inside the object but you could have the dimension number outside of the object if you drag the mouse pointer outside of the object kind of like how the Horizontal, Vertical, Linear, Aligned dimensions work. Likewise, the radius dimension defaults to inside the arc. It's a big problem when you have two or more overlaying circles. Dimensioning is necessary because it provides the information necessary to build. Dimensioning is the most un-fun part of CAD, but a necessary evil. ![]() When dimensioning a radius or a diameter, I don't like that the diameter dimension is always put at the center of the circle. 72K views 10 years ago LibreCAD training. I wish I was a programmer so I could try and make this improvement. ![]()
